Programmable power supplies have a provision for remote control of the output voltage.
Controlling output voltage can be done in several ways, including resistive control programming, voltage control programming or by digital control programming. Controlling the voltage with digital control programming, from a computer or controller, is relatively expensive.
Programmable power supplies can be used in many applications including testing of electronic equipment, PV silicon crystal growing furnaces, and instruments for thermal analysis.
