Powering Aerospace Exploration
Since our very beginning, Acopian power supplies have been chosen to power mission-critical operations that are literally out of this world. When aerospace research and exploration calls for custom power solutions and quick shipping, Acopian answers the call.
Moon Walk
Many companies played a vital role in NASA’s 1969 moon landing mission, including Acopian. One of the primary contractors for the Apollo Program at the time was General Electric. They knew they needed ultra-reliable and rugged power supplies to keep their critical electrical systems running, so they turned to Acopian. Hubble Trouble
In 1995, engineers from Lockheed Martin were testing electronics packages that NASA astronauts would install in the Hubble Space Telescope during its 1997 repair and refurbishment mission. When a major power supply failed, they asked local manufacturers for support, but none could deliver on the quick timeline they needed; the estimated delivery for a new power supply was five weeks! That’s when they called Acopian, who delivered a new one in less than 3 days! And when another power supply went a few days later, it’s safe to say that Lockheed Martin knew just who to call. Read more about it in our Hubble Space Telescope Letter from the Acopian archives.
No Mission Impossible
With a long history of powering aerospace applications, Acopian knows that no mission is impossible. We continue to support clients like Caltech, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, the U.S. military and many more in their research and exploration of aeronautics and astronautics.
